I am a waitlist for the 1Y program.........given that the class size is just 80-90 in all for the 1Y, I think my chances of a conversion are really bleak.....I have submitted my deposit for LBS.

I am also waitlisted for the 1 yr program. I'm not sure if the reduced class size brings our chances down as i'm guessing the applicant pool is not as big as the 2 yr program...then again who really knows.

Does anyone know (from previous years) if there are a lot of waitlist decisions that come out on the two dates that they talk about (Feb 21 & Mar 18)? What I mean is... should we expect a few admits and a lot of dings on these dates? Or are there are a select few who get admitted (and they are notified) while everyone else continues on the wait list?

It looks like last year there were 16 people waitlisted in Rd1, notified 12/17. Two were admitted on 1/29 and 2/2, three were dinged on 3/2, 3/31, and 4/1. Not sure if the rest of the waitlisters heard back near those dates and just didn't post that they were dinged, or if they were pushed to summer waitlist.

Thanks, that was helpful! I guess we all just have to wait patiently (easier said than done!) to see what happens on those two dates.

I spoke with WL officer early Jan, she didn't offer any specific feedback either. She said that if there was anything they were "concerned" about they wouldn't have placed me on the WL. She suggested that I provide any updates on my career or reasons for pursuing an MBA. She also mentioned that though the website says they will release initial decisions on WL candidates Feb 21, its unlikely that much of anything will be released until the march 18th. Finally, she said that the adcom reviews the WL applicants every two weeks. I just emailed her last week with a few updates on my career and reasons for wanting to go to Kellogg. This waiting game is such a bummer.

For anyone who has already sent an email to their WL officer, are you planning on sending another email? How much contact have you guys been having with your WL officer?

OH!! I was looking forward to atleast half the decisions coming out next week, really difficult to wait till Mar 18! :(
I mailed my contact with updates in the last week of January. That was the only time. Wondering if I should send something again..

I've spoken with my WL officer twice since being added to the R1 waitlist.

Firstly, she's specifically asked me "not to send in stuff just for the sake of sending it in" - i.e. no blurbs about why MBA, why Kellogg, updates on additional visits, etc. Secondly, she's also made it clear that there is nothing lacking in my profile, or I wouldn't have been WLed but dinged, and has told me to refrain from retaking the GMAT or suddenly getting involved in additional ECs. That being said, she's also mentioned that "if there are genuine updates" I should feel free to send those in. I take "genuine updates" to mean things like legitimate promotions at work, significant additional responsibility, or a new position of leadership at one of my current ECs, etc.

Finally, she's indicated that the bulk of WL movement happens on the 3/18 date. We will not hear anything if we continue to remain on the WL; we will be informed if we get accepted or dinged.
