You have to justify what you did in the gap. It doesn’t effect the chances.

Depends...my GMAT was 730. Waitlisted and rejected

The covid scenario seems to have affected the admit patterns ... obviously the school’s did not use their core competence of management to handle the situation of low applications/ admit deferments last year...
