I got a phone call last Friday, asking me about confident in my English skill and other stuffs.

Is this a good sign?
Well, it seems that they would like to admit you but they are not sure whether your English is good enough. I would say that all depends on that phone call. :) If you managed to prove that everything is alright with your English, you should be fine.

Anyway, she said that my answer will not effect the final decision at all. I think that they want to test my English skill to recommend that whether I should take the English course before the programme starts.

No one gets this phone call??

Sorry everyone, a new comer question on LBS. Different from other schools, LBS MBA admits students in 4 rounds. Does it make difference if I apply for round 2 or round 3 in terms of the chance/competitiveness to be in? Moreover, my GMAT is very low (700) and I am not sure I have profile as good as enkie to compensate the low score.

I would definetely advice you to apply in R2 rather than R3. Although they say it is the same, there are much more available seets at R2 than R3.
I think you gmat score is very good. I know of people being accepted at LBS with much lower scores. Write some good essays and you should be fine.

Hi Prapruet.

Yes I too got this call two hours ago, lasts about ten minutes and very casual. She said they are calling all int'l applicants, and also asked me whether I was interested in attending the language orientation/training prior to the MBA program if offered the seat.

Fingers crossed.

Where are you guys based (the ones who received the call about English testing)? And did you complete your undergrad at an English-speaking institution?

Hi enkie, I'm based in China and had my under-grad degree here (non-english speaking) fyi.

I suppose you've waived the TOEFL/IELTS test, right?

I did my undergrad and grad degree in the US, so I didn't need to submit TOEFL or proof of English language ability.

Hey guys - the LBS website says MBA admissions decisions are sent on 12/15 not 12/16. You can look if you go to the "applying" link then the "important dates" dropdown.

Ahhhhh no movement? INSEAD (has the same decision release date i think) has already started calling candidates.

I can't focus at work today, tomorrow, Friday until I KNOW.

You know, why even torture prisoners? Just make them apply to MBA and dont tell them if they get in or not. That is the worst torture.

Enkie believe me or not I'm checking this page regularly to see if you've got your decision :) you're almost there! by the way you've got your Oxford offer. What would you prefer if you get to LBS Oxford and Insead alltogether? :)

p.s. just having a chat with another applicant to LBS MiF and he said a very encouraging thing: they need to keep gender balance in the school so you'll be in. Fingers crossed!!!

Oh god Laman, don't get my hopes up like that. So dangerous to dream of happiness right now. :)

I think if something miraculous like that happened, I would probably have to sit down with a few best friends who know me and my career well (and where i want to go) as well as my family to do a big pros & cons session. Financials would probably play a fair bit into the decision -- especially since my focus is entrepreneurship, and not typical job placement like consulting/finance. etc. (like if my goal was to get into consulting, then i would go by which school has the best consulting job placement with the top firms -- entrepreneurship wouldnt work the same way...)

Short answer, I DONT KNOW!!!!!! :)

So that's today. Do we still believe that hypothesis?

I have been secretly reading this forum, but this is my first post...I am an R1 application to Full-time MBA at LBS....yes, i also really cant work now...need to know yes/no asap...

I think I have a strong profile but I had a very average interview, so i am not very optimistic.
