As such, we want to give our applicants the opportunity to select one essay (from a list of three) that allows them the ability to best highlight their experiences, characteristics, and values that showcase the value proposition that they can bring to the McDonough community. Please select one of the following three essays to complete in 500 words (approximately two pages, double spaced) and include the essay prompt and your first/last name at the top of your submission. Essay 1 Georgetown Community: Our mission is rooted in Jesuit principles of equality and respect for everyone and an ethos of caring for the whole person. Inclusivity and diversity are core to supporting a community of people with an intersectional understanding of themselves and the world around them. (500 words) Essay 2 Cura Personalis: As the oldest Jesuit institution in the United States, cura personalis is a Latin phrase deeply ingrained within our community and translates to “care of the person.” It encompasses a profound sense of care and responsibility for one another, rooted in personalized attention to each individual’s needs, unique circumstances, gifts, and limitations, fostering the growth of each person. Don’t worry. Believe there is going to be a lot of movement on the waitlist for Georgetown. Their yield is definitely going to be pretty low as they are stingy with scholarships

I’m not sure if Georgetown is one of the institutions that cares too much about yield. (Compared to Tuck and Duke at least that are super heavy on it)

But if you need help negotiating scholarships feel free to reach out.

I got a call from Georgetown today and I have got in the rolling rounds but without any scholarship. I wanted an honest opinion if its worth joining without any scholarship, considering high cost of living in DC area but will the 2 yrs of hectic life secure my future.

P.S. I have no better offers than this

I don’t think you could expect a scholarship in May or June, so just being realistic about offers...

I would say that most of the people going to school are probably going to be in your situation, paying full price or close to the full price.

I cannot predict in my crystal ball what kind of job you will get and what your life will look like after the the MBA but most hard-working people I I have kept in touch, have more than made up for the cost of the full tuition but everyone has a different tolerance and different situation so you have to decide for yourself.

You can always try early decision or R1 if you’re not in a hurry you may be able to improve the offer though if you’re not willing to pay the full price, you should probably apply to lower ranked schools where you would have a more competitive profile.
