Exactly what Andrew said. Admissions wants to know that you’re a human.

I filmed mine at my favorite local city park and introduced myself, talked about my job, and then talked about how excited I was about sustainability. I talked some some clubs, and then invited my future classmates to come climbing, camping, train for the boston marathon, and go get some ice cream.

I was wearing a t-shirt and a patagonia puffy

Admissions consultants can get expensive... but I thought it was crucial for me. I was super busy with work, and having one really helped me craft my story better.

makes sense thank you so so much! what type of examples should one share in the cover letter? not sure how to select 2 clear cut professional examples.

also did you communicate "Why Sloan" in any part of your application?

one of the things I remember specifically about applying to sloan as compared to other schools is that sloan cared more about what you have done, and how you solved problems

they didn’t ask about future goals or plans

this stayed consistent through the interview as well

Just like Andrew mentioned, Sloan is all about using past actions as an indicator for future success.

Sloan knows that everyone makes up some post-mba career path and then changes it anyway, so they want to hear more about WHAT you did and HOW you made an impact

Were there moments where you felt comfortable or practicing using vulnerable examples to showcase that? For example, problem solving/overcoming personal issues, mental health, a toxic (work) environment, etc

Or is it more about elaborating on the problem solving for your achievements

for mine.... I used two very specific work events... talked about what I did, and the impact it had.

it is tricky though, because you only have 300 words..... i think my first draft was well over 700

On that note about impact because I’ve heard that come up so often during my journey so far. I’ve heard people say that the impact can be to one person or to a whole community. It sounds nervewrecking to defend yourself and your impact if it’s on a smaller scale.

How were you able to find your sweet spot/identify your impact?

Even with work, that can be impact for one individual like a direct report, or firm wide for hundreds and thousands
