I dont see much in this particular thread. Can anyone update their R2 status, I got interviewed in third week of Jan and followed by an Alum interview and waiting for the decision.

I got a mail that they are pushing my result decision date to march 1st for now. They also stated that the competition is high because of the deferrals from the past year.

mostly a ding I guess !! All the best to you and other prospective candidates

Hey everyone,

I got an acceptance letter with a scholarship offer, but was told I had to respond within 10 days to secure my spot in the class. Has anyone had this experience/been successful with asking for an extension? The decision came much, much earlier than I expected - particularly when most schools aren't going to respond with R2 decisions until mid-late March.

I guess you can ask for an extension citing the fact that you are still waiting to hear from other schools. If you don't get an extension, you can pay the deposit(with the possibility of losing it) and wait for other schools.

Let us know how it goes.

I don't think that is the case. Even if there were deferrals from last year, they will still accept a few from India. They will not completely stop taking Indian applicants :)
