Hey everyone!
I’ve recently accepted my offer to join SMU this August intake — I’ll be doing the MBA program, but I’d really love to connect with anyone joining SMU,NUS or any other clg, whether you're in business, analytics, law, comms, or any other course .

I’m super excited about moving to Singapore — and I’m looking to build some solid friendships from day one. Would love to meet like-minded people to explore the city, hang out, travel on weekends, and just have a fun, memorable time during our studies.

If you’re heading to Singapore this August (2025 intake), feel free to drop a comment or DM — maybe we can even start a small group to stay in touch

When I review applications, unexplained gaps often raise questions. Do you have a career or academic gap you’d like guidance on?
If yes, I’ve shared a detailed article on this topic in our group, join the group and check it out!

Can someone tell me their interview experience?

For master’s courses

It’s a 20 minute round. Is it technical or non technical?

Hey! The NUS MSc interviews are pretty conversational but a bit technical as well — usually lasts about 20 mins. Someone from the adcom or a faculty member might take it. You’ll lead with your introduction and goals, and they might dive into your CV or ask technical stuff based on your background. Just make sure you know your CV well and stay sharp on current trends in the industry!

For any another doubt, please feel free to reach out to me!

Hello! I’m Vanshika. I graduated in 2023 with a B.Com (Hons.) from NMIMS with a 3.3/4 CGPA, and I have 2 years of work experience as a Strategy Analyst at a wealth management company.

I’m planning to apply to MBA programs this year. Given my tenure of work experience, what are my odds at NUS?

Hi Vanshika! Based on what you’ve shared, your profile is shaping up quite well for NUS, especially if you present it with intention and clarity.

A 3.3 out of 4 CGPA from NMIMS translates to a solid academic foundation, particularly if you performed well in quantitative or strategy-related coursework. NUS will want to see that you can handle the academic rigor, and your CGPA is within range, though not standout. If you can support it with a strong GMAT or GRE score, ideally 700 or above on the GMAT, it will help strengthen your profile and show academic readiness.

Your two years of experience as a Strategy Analyst in wealth management is a clear strength. NUS values analytical thinking, regional business exposure, and a global mindset. If your work involved client-facing responsibilities, problem-solving, or cross-functional collaboration, make sure to highlight that. What will matter most is how you frame your impact. Even with two years, if you’ve taken ownership of key initiatives or shown upward trajectory, it can stand out.

At this point, extracurriculars and leadership exposure outside of work would help round out your profile. If you’ve led initiatives within the company, mentored junior analysts, or engaged in volunteering or professional upskilling, these should be emphasized.

Overall, you have a competitive shot at NUS, especially if your goals are well articulated and the application reflects growth, clarity, and motivation.

For a more detailed analysis and guidance tailored to your goals, UniAdvise offers a free 30-minute consultation call to help you plan your next steps. We’ll support you with CV enhancement, profile building, and crafting a standout SOP that reflects your unique strengths.
