Alum interview.
-resume
-why mba, Ross
-why should Ross select you
-questions

I had a shaky start. As soon as I reached interviewer's office, I was ushered in and we started the interview. Was bit disoriented after travel. Took 5 mins to get my pitch and confidence back..
Worrying factor: real short interview, like on-Campus or tele. 30-35 mins. The alum ints. I 've heard of seem longer. Don't know what to make of it. Very few cross questions. I had planned concise responses for Std. stuff, sparing time for areas that intr found interesting. Had too much to detail everything. I was asked to elaborate only two specifics from my responses.

Could something have made me happier? Yes, Better start. More questions.

Hi guys. I forgot to post my application status to this thread.

I applied for Ross R2.
Got my invite last Jan 20 and had my interview Jan 31st. It was alumni interview in an Asia.

also my interviewer asked me what other schools did i apply to, any idea why they ask that?

Was your interviewer the MBA2 that turned down HBS for Ross, or was that someone else? If it was your interviewer, I could see why. If not, I could imagine your interviewer was just curious. I'm sure not all of them have the same understanding of what type of questions will freak out applicants, haha. They're not all superpolished interviewers. As an example, I sent a TY note to my MBA2, and he responded by saying "if you, for whatever reason, don't get accepted, I'd encourage you to re-apply." I think it was supposed to be uplifting as in, "you're great for Ross, don't let this year's results dissuade you!" But it just made me worry that the for whatever reason part was a lukewarm review from him! Anyway, I'm sure your MBA2 didn't mean anything by the comment.

Am curious - why did your interviewer give up HBS for Ross? $$$ or particular career goals for which Ross equipped him/her better?

I was just reading Sojin's blog ( I mainly confined myself to second hand updates and I noticed that her most recent posts mention that 'interview invites will go till the middle of february'. That my dear friends leaves us with about effectively two days worth of notifications ( friday and monday).

Not a very pleasant thought.

Monday is a holiday, so don't expect anything. Although I feel any day before the 20th is still mid feb. So next week should be okay. Plus this year was an exceptional year with tons of people missing essays,gmat, transcripts. I'm sure that delayed the whole process. I think I can count at least 10-12 people this round that had embark problems out of 45 applicants.

Hi,
I called up the admissions at Ross and reached the reception. The lady mentioned that the last date of sending invite is one week before the final decision date. However, Soojin's blog mention two different dates; mid and end of February. There are so many versions, I think the only way is to rely on your inbox and spam folder.

i don't think i missed any e-mails but don't want to committ a mistake either. still waiting for the invite.

I dont think so ... you get a link in the email that you have to follow to schedule the interview. At least in my case, the application page is not reflecting interview update.
