did any of you follow up on ur apps after submitting them say stay in touch with current students pursued recommendations from them on your app or anything like that?

plus if one does that will it be looked down upon or any other negative or positive effect someone is aware of??

If a current student/alum knows you well, you can ask them to put in a good word for you.Nothing wrong in asking for that.

Has the status for any R2 applicants changed? Mine still says submitted. Waiting for an interview invite.

I'm in the same boat, although some R2 interviews requests have certainly gone out. I'm still (nervously) waiting.

Well I dont know what you should do. But I can tell you what I did. Actually I didn't do anything. Once I submitted I waited for the interview. Then just appeared for the interview when invited. After the interview I just wrote a thank you mail to my interviewer and waited.

By the way I feel Michigan is one awesome school which is not hung up on GMAT and does not care whether you visit the school or not. At least in my case they actually did look at the merits of my application. So love them for that.

Ari123, while I agree Ross doesn't appear as sensitive to wanting to be loved, i think they really want you to understand the school and prove you did your homework. I think the 30-line text box asking how you've interacted with the school demonstrates that.

It is very hard to tell what the schools actually like/ look for. Or even what they do with our apps once we submit them. The only thing we know that if you got an admit then whatever you did worked. By the way in that 30-line box I just wrote 5-6 lines. I just wrote the name and location of the event I had attended. What did you write? Just curious.

Well I did visit campus, and ended up speaking to the Erb Director at length, so my approach was to list every person and describe the focus of the conversation.
I also listed the events I attended as well.

I may have not needed to visit campus, but that conversation w/ the director provided me a lot of good information for essays, plus showed why i think it was the perfect program for me.

By the way, where does Ross rank in your preferences? What other schools are you waiting on?

Also just wrote an info session and discussion I had there. Good to know that Ross admitted a few that weren't able to make it over to the campus prior to an interview.

At Ross event I attended, former member of student adcom said he / she was "annoyed" by or "did not like "those who did not interview on campus (if no prior visitation and clearly had means to do so). take this with a grain of salt, but i'm definitely going to interview on campus if i get an interview.

True, if you can visit, it is always better to do that. But still I think if you cant visit schools should not hold that against you. After all visiting is quite expensive. Not everyone can visit even if they are in the US. Hope schools understand that. Moreover, just visiting the school is no indication of your interest in the school. Although I did not visit I spent hours researching the school and connecting with students.

By the way although I did not visit I am probably one of the most excited/crazy Ross admits. How come no one changed their Avataars till now. Come on people show some excitement for Ross :) :) :) :) :)

Well, I'm still trying to convert my Booth waitlist to an acceptance but otherwise I'm still pretty excited about Ross. Don't want to be hasty in committing to an academic avatar. :-D

Incidentally, I did an on-campus interview but did not participate in all of the all day program. Mostly because I was nearing physical exhaustion from flying around for interviews + work.
