Waitlisted. Although my GMAT/GPA are on the low side, I was sort of expecting to be accepted. Fortunately, my #1 school accepted me, so it's all good. :)

On a different note, I love how colorful my profile is now.

Are you staying on the WL or moving on completely?

Well, the only reason that I would have chosen Ross over Fuqua was if Ross offered me some form of funding. If they ultimately decide to accept me, I highly doubt that they would offer me money considering they weren't so sure that they wanted me to begin with. Has there ever been a case of a waitlisted applicant being given a scholarship?

Good luck! A huge number of waitlisters were accepted last year, so you still have a good chance of getting accepted. :)

I'm sure they did. The quoted figures show the previous application cycle's yield and waitlist numbers. Because of the low yield, they ended up accepting 28% of the waitlisted applicants last year.

Quote:
Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 53 %
Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle: 472
Wait-listed applicants admitted for the semester to which they applied: 131

I am an Indian and I am in the same boat. You seem to have already got an admit from Tuck. What are you planning?

I think your school section with Tuck in green font misled me :)

Gaurav and Zohaib, I'm from India too and I've been waitlisted. Not to put a dampener on anybody's hopes here, but this year's chances of moving off the waitlist in a positive direction for internationals may be significantly lower than those of last year. Do not forget that the non US co-signor loan program for us has been discontinued. For the same reason, there could be more domestic applicants getting cleared off the waitlist and quicker at that.

Any advice on
a) What can be submitted as an update? That too by the 17th of Feb (that's the deadline for submitting an update for me and possibly, for the rest of you that have been aitlisted). I mean I'm at a stage in my job where I don't really see any big achievement coming up in the next one month; there may be some tid bits of achievements that I can talk about but I'm not sure if they really matter in the universe of MBA admissions. And I work with a start-up; promotions either don't happen too fast or/and as in our case, the heirarchy is such that I can't expect any anytime soon. Can't change my GPA and don't need to change my GMAT. Any advice, folks?
b) When can we realistically expect to move off the waitlist?

Would appreciate an update from anyone on the above.

@SonyRemore: Congrats on your Booth/HBS admit. Pure speculation on my part: Ross knows you have killer stats and presumably killer experience as well. Ross was probably afraid that you were using them as your safety school and would reject them if accepted. This is bad for their yield and yield plays a factor in rankings.

Congrats to all the admits so far! Interview invites for Rd 2 goes out on Monday or Tuesday *fingers crossed*.

a) It doesn't have to be a promotion per se. You can talk about a new project that you just started and the expected results. Or you can tell them about volunteer work that you have signed up for.

b) I would assume that there won't be any movement until the R2 decision deadline, so sit tight for now.
