Is it advisable to apply to Rotman with a 3 year experience when the programs starts.

I am an Indian male , I have a Bsc in Nautical Science, am a merchant navy officer, have a 3.6 GPA and a 710 GMAT. I have also worked in 38 countries.

3 years experience is fair enough to apply. 38 different countries?? What the heck??

You can always go to the application portal and and check the status of your recommendation letters. Best of luck.

Hi, is there any difference in R1 and R2?
Hi RamFromIndia, The majority of top MBA programs accept three MBA rounds of applicants. While planning your MBA application, especially if you are applying internationally to increase your chances of receiving a scholarship, you will need greater clarity on what the various MBA rounds of application imply. You may want to read an article on R1 or R2. This article will guide you on the significance of the application timeline, acceptance rate, and which round 1 vs. 2 is to be selected for filing your application in detail.

Cheers!

If I have had a promotion within the same firm, should I list each position as a separate item on the application? Or should I only have one item for this employer with the latest position listed?

I have heard Imran Kanga answering this question and the answer is you should definitely write them as two different positions and quantify the job result that you have achieved in respective position.

Could you please elaborate on your current profile and when are you planning to apply?

Was this for the resume or the application portal? My question was for the fields in the application portal

I advise you to do it in both. Promotion=Green Flag from the admissions committee perspective. Best of luck.

Still don’t know how long have your worked in your current field. I don’t think there is a straight Yes or No to your question. But if you have made a positive impact while being in your position and if you can justify the change that you are seeking and how MBA from Rotman is going to fit in your future plan, in the field/ job of your preference, there is no downside. 3-7 years of work ex is a sweet spot.

If job transition to Product design is what you are trying to tell in your application in your short term or long term goal, in that case the switch right now will make your case stronger. Again, it’s all very subjective and depends on how your goals, essays and current job are working in cohesion in your message to b-school. I hope this message was helpful. If still in doubt, feel free to engage with more people/ experts here.

Wish you luck :)

Guys can anyone tell how are you portraying “photos” in your essays?? Are you simply uploading 3 photos? Or writing caption as well?

You are free to create your own format. Just make sure to number (i.e. Picture.1) them and refer them using the numbers (i.e., refer to Picture.1) in your spike factor essay so that the reader can easily figure out the relationship between your stories and your pictures.

Best of luck.

You don't need to write the academic ielts to be eligible for the Rotman FTMBA program. General ielts would suffice. Note that ielts expires in two years and the program duration is 20 months. If you plan to apply for the express entry within 2 years after you take the Ielts, then you may take the ielts.

Best of luck!
