Good luck everyone! Just remember, the timing of an interview invitation has NO correlation with likelihood of acceptance... invites really are sent out as the applications are read, and the order of reading is a random process. I know plenty of people here (myself included) who received invites between mid-December and mid-January.

terry,

as much as I am conforted by your point (and I still hope in an invite), I keep wondering whether:

1) they really read the applications in a staggered fashion (i.e. a number of them have not been read by now)

2) if not (i.e. they have read all the apps as of now) why they time invites this way.

It's the complete opposite of HBS, which has many more apps to read btw.

As I understand it (and let me emphasize that I'm not on the adcom), applications really are read in random order. Remember, Stanford's adcom is much smaller than HBS's, so it takes a while to read all the applications. Stanford has intentionally kept its admission committee staff small in order to maintain a personal touch. It's incredible... when you show up at an admit event, Admit Weekend, or for the start of classes, it's stunning how much Derrick already knows (and remembers) about you.

FYI, I think Sandy has compared the exact size of each adcom on the BW forum before, but I can't refer you to an exact thread since I haven't been on BW in a long time.

terry,

I see your point, Stanford must really be unique in every respect. Your insight is really appreciated, thanks.

A lot of school's require an additional essay for re-applicants. I couldn't find one on Stanford's application and I'm afraid I might have missed it somewhere. Does anyone know if Stanford requires a re-applicant essay?

Woah, it looks like Stanford is incredibly difficult to get in. Only one GMATClubber got an interview invite so far? Is this because invites haven't come out in great numbers yet?

Thanks bball. I could see some robust material in many of the sub-fora on this site. That's what got me here. I'll be hanging out on this thread and the Kellogg thread as well.

I wouldn't read much into the few invites that have gone out so far. I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of them have not yet been sent out.
