Congrats to everyone who submitted for R1. It's a very difficult application, but a phenomenal program. Good luck!

Does the state of the application change from submitted? Is anyone seeing "under review"?

I also submitted in R1.. just on time!

Waiting for interview calls...

Any stats about how many people generally apply in R1 ? What % get interview calls and how many of them get admits on an average? Just curious

Cheers!

I am also in for R1! I made a mistake in my application and saw it after I submitted my application. In the length of full time experience, by mistake I put down the number of months I have worked till now instead of September 2010. I sent them an email about it, but I am not sure how it will be looked upon..:-\

Has anybody gotten an interview for R1 yet? I know the blog said they have offered the first interviews, but I was wondering if anybody else has gotten one.

Is there any point in applying to Stanford in R3?
The deal is that I really want to apply to Stanford but I'm in a real time-crunch for the R2 apps and would rather submit a R2 app in a univ where I have a slightly better chance of getting in.

i'd say if you have the time to apply in any round, then go for it. even if you feel you're chances are slim, i think trying is better than not trying.

Just found the forum. It looks like a good place to share information. I applied R1; for me, Stanford is the only thing on the radar.

Did anyone else have a great experience completing the application? I really admire Stanford for encouraging applicants to reflect on their deepest motivations in life... it takes a lot of courage to openly share your thoughts with strangers, especially when something so valuable rides on their judgment of your personal character.

As far as waiting for interview invites and acceptance calls: be optimistic - as long as you are doing what is right in life, everything is a blessing (acceptances, wait-lists, and dings included). Anything to the contrary is either (1) meant to help you identify what you are doing wrong or (2) proof of your lack of perspective.

Good luck to everyone!
