I am a little freaked out though...I live in NY, so it would be very easy to have an alum meet with me...but instead they want me to come ON CAMPUS to meet with an admission officer, in person. They are giving me a month to make the trip. Seems unusual, doesn't it?
Don't be freaked out! You're right - it seems unusual, but I think that meeting with an admissions officer is a wonderful opportunity to showcase yourself to adcom! From what I've read and from what you've probably read too, alumni interviews are blind (e.g. they only have your resume as background), but because you are meeting with adcom, your interview may not be blind. Keep that in mind as you prepare...
Good luck and congratulations! I think if anything, it's a wonderful sign!PS - moderator, please add me to the roll call - R2 / F 28 / 3.6 GPA / 700 GMAT / 4 yrs WE: 2 yrs financial advisory, 2 yrs corporate development at an apparel retailer / so-so ECs / LT goal in retail strategy
