Congrats, justniky. That's awesome. Did you submit before the Jan 6 deadline?
An interview in person always works better because it gives you a better platform to showcase yourself and also demonstrates that extra commitment to wanting to go the school. So it can only help, all else equal. I guess phone interviews can be a bit tricky because it's more difficult to assess how the interview is going and to adjust accordingly during its course. That being said, Stanford really seems to be a very flexible and reasonable school (definitely more so than some of the others) and if they like you enough, there's absolutely no way they would hold it against you for picking a phone interview over a visit since you're not from the US. So all in all, if travel is feasible then you should definitely make it happen, but if it's proving difficult, just roll the phone interview and don't think about it too much. I doubt a phone interview would be a reason for someone not getting in, unless you absolutely mess up the interview (altogether different issue).
Good luck, and do let us know how it goes.

I'm from Guatemala, and I have the option of a phone interview or traveling for an in person interview. I'm considering interviewing in campus. What do you recommend??? I'd prefer an in person interview over a phone interview.
I say in person is always better. Congrats!
