I noticed that in my account today, too. I don't have any idea what that means....but it would be nice to hear from SGSB.

I love how these schools have mastered the art of being a tease. They surely must subscribe to those magazines that revolve around dating like Cosmo, AskMen, etc. because they incessantly and unmercilessly tug at our heart strings so.

I too have the event panel and it seems that all of the events are on-campus events during the week of 3/02 and onwards with info sessions and class visits. I hope Stanford will release most of their invites then!

bah! waiting sucks! sorry - i'm a late comer to the forum despite having followed it religiously over the past few weeks. (i applied R2)

however, as a potential little bright spot - i just spoke to my friend who went to the admit weekend (she smartly applied R1 haha). she said that in the speaker's speech - he remarked how 'nice it was to get a break from reading applications'.

...so...that does mean they're still reviewing and still thinking, right?! all hope isn't lost yet!

(oh - and this friend also got her interview invite very close to the final decision date)

Poo, I was going to visit the school if I got an interview, but now it looks like maybe I should have checked it out beforehand to possibly score some points (regardless of what they say, I guarantee you they give points to people on the East Coast who commit the time and money to come out to visit them, especially with the potential to lose these candidates to H/W/C/Sloan).

I want to email them and tell them I will show my commitment by flying out there!

after reaching my lowest low of the season w/ a rejection from MIT yesterday, followed by sitting in airport alone and being abused by the airlines in order to finally get home after a canceled flight, and knowing that i would have to go straight to work on a night shift in order to make up the tardiness:

for the first time in months i casually checked my email figuring my invite season was over, and wow: an invite from stanford!

i ran out of the room afraid to open it. holy fkg sht. then i ran back and clicked on it, afraid that i was hallucinating. then i logged back out and logged back in to make sure i wasnt in someone elses gmail account or that it would not get recalled. holy fkg sht. an interview invite from stanford? this is definitely my highest high of the season.

they said they couldnt find anyone to interview me in my area, so they finally decided to ask me what i wanted to do. holy fkg sht. an interview invite from stanford? i am so bewildered and feel like a jack@ss for my lower than low post over in the MIT forum yesterday. wow.

That's awesome quantjock! Now you won't have to compromise as much on the weather if you get in! I'll still be waiting for you to host a pre-MBA Carribean party! :D

Congrats quantjock & egy! Great news.

Though the revival of hope is a cruel thing... guess I'm back to refreshing my e-mail compulsively! (And you guys are starting to get a sense of what "compulsive" means with me.)

A few more?

I would estimate that 60% of invites have been sent out to R2 applicants thus far. 40% still left and they will be going out all the way to mid March (as GSB's Admissions Office has repeatedly stated).

Definitely shouldn't be losing any type of hope at this point. In a couple of weeks, if you still haven't received an invite then it is definitely time to analyze your other options more closely...etc.

Thanks! The revival of hope is such a double edged sword. Though at the end of the day hope trumps no hope.

Got it...thanks :)

Interesting that you applied R1 last year and then R2 this year. Still not 100% on getting the MBA?
