Had my interview yesterday. Interesting to say the least, not at all what I expected (using Kellogg as my basis, as thats the only other Interview I had so far). Meeting was at a Hotel Lounge in NYC. I wore a traditional Dark Gray Suit, he was dressed in Khakis w/ a Tie.
We spent only about 10 minutes on my resume, and it was very 'behavioral' in terms of the questions. For example, 'Why did you list this this first, do you consider that your biggest accomplishment?'
The rest of the questions were all 'STAR' format questions - "tell us about a situation where you...." This was about 30 minutes. After that, we spent 15 minutes on my questions, and then another 20 minutes or so on more just casual conversation.
At the end, he came right out and said that the interview format was very tailored to the individual. Since I have management experience, he didn't feel the need to as questions about my fit in terms of having direct reports/teamwork etc.... But instead how well I could articulate my experiences, and what I learned from them in order to grow as a leader.
Was definitely unexpected.
