Looks like I am kind of late for a roll call update but here goes..
Applied R1 ! Indian/730/3.6 (Mech Engineering)/Cleantech Entrepreneur/3 yrs WE (by Aug 2011)/ 2 years non profit exp in policy and regulatory affairs.
NOT a reliance finalist.
Wonder if any invites were sent out to non-Reliance fellows? My take on the "lost hope-still hope" debate: I shall anticipate till the end of November !

Yesterday I was heartbroken, but today I'm going to agree with you Indya... Afterall, you never know, kuch kuch hota hai, right?!
i certainly would not give up hope yet. looks like there were a good number of interviews released on the monday/tuesday before thanksgiving last year (based on the "Stanford R1 Interview Invites" businessweek thread from last year...gmatclub wont let me post the link until i have 5 posts- but i'm sure you can google it.)
and if you look later in that post, someone even had a phone interview the day before decisions went out!
apparently some final year undergrads have received an interview invit this year as well...don't know the details though..
daewoo
none of them have mentioned that they were recent graduates.. one of them was chemical engineer with work ex.. last year they did select a fresher directly from college..
I am very much trying to stay positive, but it does concern me that there are reports on this blog of interviews from applicants with very similar backgrounds (and geography!) to my own.
My profile - NYC, 700+ gmat, 3.9 from Ivy, 3+ yrs Management Consulting
Congrats to those that have heard and good luck to those who are patiently waiting... sounds like I am in good company
Had my interview. The alum was very nice and we started with some good ice breaking chit chat. After a quick why mba / why stanford, we dived into behavioral. It was a little less conversational than my Booth interview - he had his poker face on the whole time. No curveballs. A couple times (I guess when I didn't proactively bring it up in my initial answer) he asked a follow up question on what my thought process was. We then spent a good 30 minutes discussing his Stanford experience, which was much warmer and more conversational - he had clearly flicked a mental switch from "evaluate" mode to "sell" mode. Whole thing took 70 minutes.
I also heard of another couple guys in the U.S. who got interview invites last week. Given that I haven't heard any this week (on this forum or elsewhere), I would guess that nearly all invites have been sent out already last week. There may be a handful left but that probably isn't significant for 99% of us.

just got off the phone with Stanford Admin office - The person behind the phone was extremely polite
She said: majority of the invites have been sent out at this time, but a few invites will continue to trickle down over the next few days - straight from the horses mouth
now if i get an invite - I am going to go and buy a lottery ticket as well

Thanks Chinki, good idea to just ask the adcom instead of continuing to speculate! Now I can finally stop spending pointless energy worrying and really buckle down for R2!
Yes I know there is some crazy small chance that I might get that stanford invite lottery ticket the day before the deadline, but I'm not gonna think about it or let it get in my way of my apps to HBS and other schools for R2. All this time spent worrying and checking forums had me in a bad space and I really couldn't get anything done, but now that I've had my pitty party I'm ready to begin anew and knock these suckers out of the park!
I am confused with the criteria Stanford is using to evaluate the candidates. It seems as if a lot of applicants with competitive profiles are not getting invited to interviews. I have been invited to interviews by Harvard, Wharton, and Booth but have not heard anything from Stanford.
Yea, it seems so random. But I'd say that the people I've met from Stanford are, compared to the other schools, less braggy and seem more socially sensitive to others around them. Definitely a culture difference vs the others.
I have a query. I have got a significant update to my profile that I would like to share with the Admissions Officers? I am confused what is the best way to share that information with them (mail them or call them or nothing would help). Please comment.
