Essay 1: What matters most to you, and why? The best examples of Essay 1 reflect the process of self-examination that you have undertaken to write them. Also, a piece of advice to all those submitting today or in later rounds - if you have issues with your resume uploading in the proper format, try changing the font of your resume to Times new roman and make sure your bullets are standard form. Do double check your application in pdf form (you can check by pressing the print button on the bottom left) to make sure your resume is not out of format

One of my recommendations came in at 5:01. Will I get pushed back a round?

Submitted Stanford App yesterday - My last app for R1. Now getting back to my life after 8 months of GMAT & applications ...

I have the same question: how late will recommendations be accepted? Hi guys, I actually had the same question (I wasn't too sure about one of my recs) and called the admissions office a couple of days ago. They said there's a chance that late recommendations might not get added to your file if submitted late, so your application would be evaluated with 1/2 recs. It's best to take shekmba's advice and call them.

I recently took part in a conference call (on Ocotber the 4th) on admission processes and the Stanford representative said that if a recommendation comes in late what they do is they review the candidate with the rest of the materials that are attached to the file online (e.g if you have one recommendation that came in late you'll be probably reviewed with two recommendations on your file instead of three). She also said that it often happens that to send a recommendation 1-2 days after the deadline is still ok.

Has the status on the online app changed for anyone? Or has anyone received some kind of confirmation email stating that the application is under review? I find in general that the communication from the Stanford admissions office is not at par with other schools. I do know they respond very well to email; I just wish they were a bit more transparent about the process.
