This might be a little off-topic, but does anyone know if CMU has decent gym facilities and good places to eat on campus? I didn't really get to see either during my visit...

I was shown the gym and swimming pool during campus tour.Seemed decent to me.

hi guys,

I am new here and wanted to thank everyone for all the info. Its very helpful.

I will be applying to the flex time program in a couple of months and have been working on the application for the last few weeks. Its shaping up well. I am having trouble with the work history document though, not sure how much it should deviate from the resume. Any help/tips on this will be really appreciated.

Yeah they have two pretty god one... one at CMU main building, where the big cafeteria is. and another one close to the tepper building. Same with cafeteria.. one at the main univ center building and the other smaller one in the tepper building.

If I remember correctly ... the work history doc asks for every part time and full time jobs. In my resume, I only have my full time positions ... while in this document I also put in my student worker jobs at my univ along with other small part time jobs.

oh ok thats good to know, appreciate your help...

did you make it more descriptive on the work history or like a bullet point format? also did you include salary details?

I was a research assistant and teaching assistant during Grad school, I am wondering whether to include it in the resume or just in the work history doc?

Nope I didnot include any salary or anything like that. In fact I didnot include even a samll description of those jobs. (I filled my applicaiton 1-2 hrs before the dealine so didnot have the time to do all that ;)). Yeah things like TA and RA .... I did include that in this document.

I submitted my application on 1/4. When I called to schedule an interview, they already knew who I was and efficiently set up the whole campus visit. This leads me to believe that invitations are trickling out, sort of arbitrarily, to keep the office from being swamped with scheduling requests.

Hi All,

I was invited for an interview and its coming up in the next week. I was wondering if anyone had some pearls of wisdom, general experiences, example q's, or advice/tips they would like to share?

Also, anyone know what the chances are of acceptance after an interview invite is received? I've heard from someone that used to work at tepper admissions that the odds are very favorable provided you don't have some of sort nervous breakdown at the interview. BW rankings info however says that 66% of all applicants were interviewed, which would mean they accept roughly 1/2 of the people they interview.

I'll be back to post my experiences; gd luck all
