Icon, it's nice that we both have a solid backup plan if no other top-ranked school works out. Looking forward to finding out about schollays and attending admit weekend. To be honest, I'm glad that I'll be attending at least one admit weekend.

For me, being that I want to work in either Dallas or Houston after graduation, McCombs really is ideal because if its great recruiting and its unmatched alumni network in those cities. Getting in state tuition (24k annually compared to almost 50k at many top programs) and the opportunity to live in Austin for 2 years are just icing on the cake. My rejection (after getting the acceptance email) from Kellogg stung, but my acceptance at McCombs has completely made up for it.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting on decisions!

Just got the call. I have been accepted to McCombs!

Admit weekend is April 2-4. They also said that they find out the amount of available scholarship money in January and will make scholarship offers then. They are trying to get any admit decisions called today before their big holiday break so be by your phone!

For anyone curious I submitted my app Nov. 4 and interviewed Dec. 1.

$24K for in-state tuition is a real bargain and the school sounds great for Houston/Dallas recruiting.

I just started this generic 'applytexas' online application that is used by many schools in TX and I am so frustrated with the number of questions they ask. This is horrible. Wondering why McCombs don't make its own application form cuz this is ridiculus.

I dont remember in which month I graduated from my primary school and what the 'class level' was!!!

Are you sure you're doing the right app? I don't remember it being that much different than many other schools. In some ways it was much easier as it only took me 5.5 weeks from submission date to acceptance. UCLA is going on 12 weeks with nothing. I realize I'm not getting in, but how about some kind of notification or something?

yes. your application won't go to "complete" without official gmat score report and transcripts. once they have those, your recs, and your completed app they will review your file.

have you gotten a decision from rice already?

I don't know the statistics off-hand but I *think* McKinsey is interviewing ~15 1st years for summer positions and intends to take 2-4 depending on their needs and how well the interviewed students do. Don't quote me on that!

has anyone got an invite since the school reopened? dont see too many updates on this thread!!!

submitted my app more than a month ago and no news....this school is giving me the jitters...long school breaks...no updates...not even a whimper out of them.....

I am there with you. Interviewed Nov 17, I think, and nothing so far. I thought I would for sure hear from Texas before Michigan, but it is not looking like it.

Has anyone heard from McCombs about scholarship money? When I got my admit call before Christmas they mentioned they would be notifying scholarship recipients in January.

I'm not expecting any (white male working in finance aka the uber nondiversity applicant :lol: ) but it sure would be a pleasant surprise!
