lepium, so why do you think Dee says this in her blog.

In the beginning of each round, all of our resources are deployed to reading applications. Once we begin the actual interviewing (interviews began on November 5) we cannot read at the same pace — hence the slowing down of the invitation rate.

Are you saying what she is saying is not true? or do you interpret this another way?

I'm interpreting differently. They've read about 50% of apps (using invites as a proxy for apps read) within the first 37 days since submission (Oct-2 till Nov-8) and they'll read the balance 50% in the remaining 69 days (Nov-8 till Jan-16) till the deadline. That's the slowing down I think she's talking about.

well, more or less i think.

but that's not really the right way to look at it...50% of invitations have been sent...but that 50% could come from 70% of the applications too or 30% of the applicatons (unless they more or less mathematically assure that each lot gets same # of invites)

Yeah, recruiting has finally kicked in. Reality check for all of us (well, most of us, anyway). It's kinda tough when you are trying to attend those on top of reading cases and generally doing everything you were doing upto a week ago (when you were already busy), but on the other hand it's exciting.

Btw, the list is only this week's. There's presentations every day all the way into December, 3 shifts a day + the other ones that you network into (which aren't part of the list).
