Hi guys, I had a query regarding UCLA’s STEM mba and eligibility to get that extended OPT. Would someone who gets placed in say MBB firms get that OPT extended if they did the STEM MBA?
3 year OPT is a benefit of the STEM education, its not a benefit of the job you get into. So whether you work in MBB or anywhere else should not matter.

That’s very insightful. 1) I see a lot of international MBB summer associates on Linkedin. Does that mean the conversion rate into full time associates is low ? Any thoughts on this? 2) Is the scenario any different for European MBAs where the national : international candidates split is more on the international side? 3) Which would be the top 3 industries with highest rate of acceptance of H1Bs? Any data or articles regarding these would be eye opening for international candidates. -From a guy chasing his mbb dream
1. I know that BCG gives a FT offer at the time of summer internship offer, unless you mess up the internship / get into ethically questionable behaviour. . It may be the same/ similar at other firms

For point 3, I would say:
1. Consulting
2. IB
3. IT (recruitment is down now, but will eventually pick up)

You should wait until you have 3-4 years exp. Look at the class profile for more clarity

Hi guys. I live in Chicago and am applying to UCLA and UCSD Rady next year and I am a bit confused by both of them working with education agents. Recently a cousin of mine got a call from QSAPPLY which is owned by QS and now I see UCLA and Rady both participating in an event (the Chicago one) of the same company. I was planning to go and meet the school admissions reps at the event but I am now wary that either this is a scam (because my school seniors have shared that UC schools categorically stay away from such agents) or UCLA and Rady are now allowing education agents to push students into the classroom.

This has alarmed me a lot and I have written to various teams at the schools but haven't gotten any answers. I have decided to not go to the event anyway as I am afraid the organisers will take my data and start bugging me with their agency schools or services. I am also not uncertain whether UCLA and Rady have become desperate to engage with such large agents to get applications and if yes then perhaps the quality of applications (and therefore of my future classmates) has dropped significantly.

If anyone in this forum is in touch with the admissions team or can clarify why such schools are now seen amongst agents, then it will really help to bring down my anxiety.

Does UCLA follow strict section wise cutoffs for TOEFL? I got 111 in TOEFL iBT and my writing is 24, but UCLA expects 25 in writing section. So will this be a problem? Did anyone receive interview invite in a similar case?
Did they accept your writing score?
