Awesome - looking forward to it. Have you accepted at UCLA yet? I'm waiting to hear from one more program...but seems UCLA is the likely destination...what neighbourhoods do you recommend to look for housing in LA based on attending Anderson?

I haven't heard anything either. I responded to the email last week asking if I was still interested in the WL, but haven't heard anything since. I noticed today that the letter notifying me of my wait-list decision is no longer up on the application page. Does anyone else see the same thing happening?

Have any waitlisters been invited back to interview over the last week?

Yep. Same here the link for the waitlist letter has disappeared. I think its all in preparation for the new decision links that will come out tomorrow.

Did UCLA do a background check? I've read on other school forums that this is done (through something called KRoll?) but I haven't seen any mention of it for UCLA.

Kroll's are rather expensive. We use them on management teams and such when you don't have a lot of personal experience with them. Seems pretty crazy to do a Kroll to me.

On a funny note, we killed a deal once when we found out that one of the managers of a Korean biodiesel project we were going to invest in was a US fugitive. That's another one for another time though :)

Haha sounds like an interesting story :)

Agree that it sounds rather expensive...but other schools are definitely doing them (when I'm bored, I skim the other forums hehe). Just haven't heard anything about these for UCLA?

Wharton does it for sure. Most of the top schools have some kind of background check. They usually call the companies in your resume to make sure your title and salary is what you put in your application. But sometimes it can be tricky because many companies HR departments have a policy of not reveling the salary info unless the employee authorize them.

While my supervisor knows I'm leaving, the rest of the company/HR department doesn't know yet. So can be tricky. That's why I'm so curious about UCLA... there seems to be no mention of it when I went back to the R1 pages whereas almost all of the other schools seem to mention it somewhere.

Anyone out there know? Anyone? *crickets*

Huh, interesting. I applied R2 and was waitlisted a couple weeks ago. I logged into my status page just out of curiosity and my status link has also been removed. Any other R2 waitlisters have their status link disappear??
