Although the FEMBAs were allowed to participate in the internship recruiting and the full-time recruiting, the recruiters themselves heavily favored the full-timers in this process.

I only applied to FEMBA, so can I ask - Are you allowed to apply to both programs, or apply round 1 for full-time, then switch to FEMBA later?

No and no. As far as I know, one cannot apply to both programs in the same year, and one cannot switch between application rounds from one program to another depending on the outcome, if I understand your questions correctly.

Anyone else want to chime in on my previous two posts?

Thanks.

Where are you actually located? The FEMBA admins also try to downplay the commute, but it's a huge time sink for people from out of town. I wouldn't do FEMBA unless you're in LA.

Hi Diego,

I was also in San Diego during the FEMBA program. There were about 10 of us in my class (2009) and I think only one or two people managed to make a career change. As I said, part of the problem was being in the "lost class" of 2009. However, most of us were not happy with the on-campus recruiting.

PM me if you'd like to talk. I can also put you in touch with some other recent FEMBA grads from SD.

FEMBA has all day Saturday class schedules so there's people flying in from NorCal or driving from San Diego (as I heard).
Also as diego77 wrote, you can only apply to FEMBA or Full-Time, not both.

Ultimately the FEMBA program (from what I'm hearing from alumni) is somewhat challenging to get involved in student activities as many clubs have meetings during the day. Networking events vary, but of course with the full time program, you'll be on campus more so more proximity to the happenings.

Personally I wouldn't be so worried about the age difference. Focus on what program is best for you and best aligns with your goals. You'll be spending the same amount on tuition! so make it worth it! ;)

Diego777, I am in the same boat as you (very similar profile - age/Indian/top indian school, undergrad, gmat, etc). Based on my research, most ppl didnt think that my age would be a major disadvantage. Of course, some schools are less friendly than others.
Personally, I am only looking into FT options and am considering to apply to UCLA :) hope this provides some support!

gogetter08,

It's good to know that age would not be a disadvantage based on the feedback you received.

Count me in for FEMBA 2011. I had been preparing to apply R1 For the past 3 months, but I've decided to give myself some more study time and will apply R2. Glad to meet you all!

I'm planning on applying in r2.

Have any of you scheduled a visit for the 2010-2011 school year? I can only find a link for visiting in the prior school year, which doesn't help too much.
