Hey manvsmba...i just got back from a client dinner (so don't know exactly when my status changed, but definitely after 4p PST)...but now it says "Your application is complete for committee review and will have a decision released by the publish date for your round.". Assuming we're still in "the middle" of the interview period, do you think i still have a shot? It's pretty late and I didnt get an email with an invite. I've been on the blogs everyday, so forgive me folks, but has anyone received their invite after an "extended" period of time after a status change? Dying to know...

I remember few had to wait for hours before getting the e-mail. Considering this was the end of the day, you can expect to receive something till noon. I am still waiting for a status change and an interview invite. This wait is killing me too!

Count me in for round 2 (1/5)
Indian male
Experience : 4+ years in IT industry
GMAT: 750
Application Status: "Your application is complete for committee review"

A friend of mine who was a round 1 applicant told me that generally 20-25 days before the final decision date they update the status of all the applicants who will not be called for an interview. I even called the admission office to get an idea but they just told me that they are still reviewing the applications and are still sending interview invites.

The wait for a decision is literally killing me now :(.

bp9908: I am in the same boat as you are. My status changed on 14/02 (or that is when I got to know that it has changed). Given that people usually get invites shortly after or before their statuses change on the application page (see page 31 of this thread), I had assumed that I am heading towards a ding. Not sure I am still allowed to keep my hopes alive :?

Good luck to you.

Thanks pjman... Best of luck to you and all the people still waiting for the invite !!

Can more round 2 applicants update their status and let us know if anyone has received an interview invitation many days after their application status changed ?

mks1984 : This might be the case but i am still unsure as there is still more than a month to go for the decision date!!

Hi All,

I received an interview invite today at 11:48a PST. My status changed yesterday sometime around 4p PST. Stay positive! It looks like there is no rhyme or reason as to how far after the status changes that an invite comes.

To Fellow FEMBA Admits/Applicants:

I've been reading past GC threads regarding FEMBA, and I'm getting the picture that career support for the FEMBA (ie, on-campus recruiting, networking sessions) isn't exactly great. I wonder if there has been any changes to that considering the CSC has dedicated services for FEMBA students? My main concern is that I recall seeing threads indicating that employers themselves are heavily biased towards full-time students rather part-time students.

Wonder if anyone can chime in on this.

Hey thatsku,
From what I've heard from full-time students (current and alumni), you are correct that recruiters (in the minds of full-time students) give priority to full-time students. If you think about it, it makes sense, since FEMBAs already have jobs, and most are looking to just grow in their career and increase their pay. Granted, I'm sure there are some looking to change careers, which totally makes sense, I think the majority are not. However, I wouldn't let that get you down. Any experience is what you make it. You'll still have access to all the resources that full-time students would have, as well as the ability to say you're an Anderson student. An MBA from Anderson is an MBA from Anderson, no matter what the program. I'd say work you butt off, make the contacts, and go for it.

So.
I had my interview last week and it went really really bad.
I've heard of other people who had short sweet and laid back interviews but mine was pretty high pressure and lasted an hour. The guy really put me on the spot and tried to find some hole in my replies. It wasnt informal. No small talk about the weather. HE was in a suit and luckily I was too. I've had interviews for other schools (arguably better) and have been explicitly told NOT to dress up so this was weird esp for a California school. This guy really probed every reply. The questions themselves were the usual suspects but it was his attitude that was unnerving. Seemed like he made up his mind before he came to the interview that he wouldnt like me.

Has anyone else had such an experience?
How does the adcom account for such discrepancies in interview styles? It does not seem fair.
I thought I had a really good chance of getting in until the interview. I hope they discount that portion of my application.
Seems like 40% of those interviewed get dinged. yikes! that sounds like a lot hanging on the interview report.

Anyways... just a heads up to those who still have interviews pending. be prepared for anything. Good luck!

Does anyone know if decisions are released over time? or are they all released on the publish date?

If you feel your overall profile is strong and is in line with the student profile at the school then I wouldn't sweat the interview too much. Plenty of applicants have interviewed strongly and still ultimately been rejected because they were fringe candidates to begin with and the opposite happens as well.
