I think Sandy over states a lot of stuff. I know a few people who went to HBS and were far from ivy league/blue chips. I think those people definitely have the best chances but other people do get in.

I would love to hear Lepiums take on that statistic.

I agree with river, I started freaking out about admit stats after reaading Sandy's posts...dead meat and all that other junk. Honestly, as it was pointed out to me, why interview people if you don't think they have a shot to be accepted. It doesn't pad stats or anything...doesn't make sense. Has anyone interviewed yet? I'm interviewing on Monday.

I interviewed yesterday. It was very conversational and there were no surprises. Just study the questions outlined on accepted.com and clearadmit.com and you'll be very ready.

I just had my interview with an alumnus in Bangalore. It was fairly stressful and he questioned every answer I gave. Overall, I think that I was able to rebut all his queries and paint a good picture of why I wanted a MBA. No real surprises as far as questions go:
1) Walk me through your CV
2) Why do you want a MBA
3) Why now?
4) Long term/Short term goals
5) Why Wharton
6) Leadership
7) Then he went on in length questioning and analyzing my reasons for a MBA and why I wanted to work in India

Congrats Shmegs! If you are satisfied with your interview then you have given it your best shot!

Lol I don't know if I'm satisfied, my interviewer was very arrogant and questioned why I needed a MBA to go into EV despite the fact that he did the same. I don't think I did incredibly well at the interview but at the same time I don't think I blew it. Hopefully it won't hurt, but it was definitely a stress interview. Here's wishing everyone who still has interview g'luck!

Really nail down why Wharton. I know you're doing that for all schools but really dig deep into the website. Wharton isn't a quant school but it stresses analytical abilities. Really show that you've thought about it and identify classes/programs that will help you. Other than that, it's the same basic stuff with all the other essays. The one thing to consider is that the app itself is pretty detailed, don't leave it for the last minute. clearadmit wharton blog has some good pointers when it comes to the essays. G'luck! Oh and if you can name drop alumni or current students, they seem to like that.

You can generally get in touch with alums in fields that related to your own by perusing the website. Their e-mail address are pretty standard [email protected] did that for two and they were both very nice and told me to state that I had spoken to them etc. in the essays.

All,

Are Wharton offers rendered on a rolling basis? Some indicated that they had been admitted, but according to Wharton AdCom all decisions will be posted on December 20th.

Thanks,

Wharton decisions are not rolling. They are all sent out on or near 20 December. I think people who stated that must have messed up and typed admit instead of interview invite.

That's what I thought. Todolist has indicated in two places on this forum that he/she has already been accepted.
