Sorry about the mix up...well GSB is still a great "backup" to put it mildly.
Absolutely, frankly I fell in love with Chicago when I visited and somewhat hoped I'd only get into one school to make my decision easy. I certainly don't view it as a back-up. But being on the WL is incredibly frustrating for deciding my process especially given the timing of dates. I'm likely to join you in the Chicago area...

Chicago is going to be the hub of gmatclubbers next year and R2 people haven't even submitted yet. Personally I was happy to get a ding from GSB instead of a WL...you are right it makes moving on much easier.
Tough break guys... Dabots are you going to hold out for MIT or are you going to GSB. JP, at least you got good news yesterday...makes the ding a lot easier to take. mba2010, so are you gonna be joining us at Kellogg admit weekend then?
I updated the thread with all the schools, I believe I got the interview vs no-interview and all the decisions right. Feel free to correct that though.

I was planning on going to DAK regardless of the Wharton decision. And I definitely love Chicago much more than Philly. Location was my biggest reservation for Wharton. If we could move Wharton to a better city, it'd be my ideal school

I HEART Chicago! Having U of Chicago and Kellogg in my favorite city in the U.S. certainly made it easier for me to decide where to apply
Ya chicago and Boston were the two cities my wife and I choose as the ideal fit.
I agree, wharton is a great school but philly leaves a lot to be desired. Location definitely is Wharton's weakpoint. If it was in NYC, I think it would be considered on par with HBS.
Congrats DJM, it was a really nice touch to get a call from TCaleel. Congrats to everyone who received good news, hopefully we'll meet at the admission sessions in feb, and I'm really sorry to hear about the dings/waitlists.
Congrats to BCC, shmegs and DJM. Hopefully some more will get a positive news from Wharton. And for the rest of you, enjoy your other admits or pick yourself up for R2. It's not over till all the R2 deadlines are over, remember?
