thanks jmw125. "did not meet expectation" question is kind of drastic - it's like one really failed or made a big mistake. My recommender will probably talk about the same story in both cases. Last year wharton did not have 2 separate questions for it. It is surprising they have removed strength question - where does one address that?
They could, but mine didn't. Just to provide an example, one of my recommenders went with a story where i wrote a memo for our investment committee that was much more salesy then it should have been and didn't have he objetive view that a memo to our investment committee typically would. He then went on to say that y redraft of the memo took his comments into account and my work since has been much more objective and thoughtful. Hope that's helpful.
is it ok for recommender to _not_ fully accept that the applicant "did not meet expectation", unlike in app essays mistake question where they want no middle ground and want to accept mistake? my recommender will probably want to talk about slight adjustment of style than accepting mistake...[/quote]
