First post in this thread, and I don't mean to continue down the tangent, but just one last thing regarding suits. I don't think price tag is important, but for gods sakes get it tailored. Attention to detail says a lot about a person. I was once dinged from an internship because I forgot to label one of the axes on a graph I made (during an interview test)...the reason..."you showed a lack of a attention to detail". Lesson learned.

Anyway, I'll be applying RD2

GPA 3.2 top 3 pub (humanities), GRAD 3.7 (ivy), 3.5 years real estate dev and solar industry, post mba social enterprise (my master's is related), GMAT dec. 16., AGE: 28

I don't think it needs to be tailored, just so long as you feel comfortable and confident in it.

But good luck with R2! I also work in real estate as well, so I definitely want to wish good luck to a fellow RE guy.

Thanks man, good to see another RE guy battling this economy head on. I wish you the best as well. What are your stats? Other schools you're looking to apply to?

Not too much useful information. Most people asked about specific interests such as support for mother students, health care majors, etc. However they did mention that around 40% of applicants get interview invites.

One person asked how much time should be spent on writing the essays... lol.. classic.

I must say, i do prefer wharton's method of inviting people to interview. Only two days to worry about. No guessing at when things will be sent out. Good luck to all who applied R1! Only 9 days til first notification date

I think I will have a hard time sleeping on next Thursday night. Does anyone know if all emails will be mass-produced and sent out at the same time? Or the email to interview-invite will be sent out as the day goes on next Friday?

I assume a mass batch file, so all 1,500 (say 50% of 3000 rd1 apps gets invited for interviews) will know by (hopefully) mid-noon.

I can only imagine. I think the system is fast enough to send out a mass email (within 1-2 hours for 1,500 people).

Correction: 1,500 people on Oct 29th AND Nov 5th. So assuming a split between the two dates, then only 750 pppl on the first day.

Does Wharton allow for / welcome information updates after an application has been submitted?

I have had a considerable shift in my employment. Is there a mechanism for alerting the adcom? Would they prefer to not be bothered?

I made a correction to my post after you had quoted the original (see above). The quote from the Admissions' email is: "We begin inviting candidates to interview on October 29th." That is one week away.
