Hmm, based on the email from Wharton, dings go out on the 5th.
The Admissions Committee will release interview invitations on Friday, October 29th and again on Friday, November 5th. Due to the nature and complexity associated with the admissions process there is no particular order in which invitations are released. Also on November 5th, the Committee will release all final admissions decisions to candidates that are not being invited for an interview and therefore no longer being considered for admission.

Good luck tomorrow! I wonder what time the invites go out.

i hope the invites go out in one wave @ midnight EST (wharton time). I don't think i could handle the suspense. Or at least it would make me very unproductive @ work tomorrow.

Agreed! I received a "Join Us for a Venture Capital Event" e-mail today from "The Wharton School"...I saw the sender name and my heart stopped for a second even though my brain knew that it wasn't Friday!

All the best to R1 applicants.

I'm in for R2. For the 'turning down an opportunity' essay, is it ok to write about making a choice between 2 opportunities or does that not accurately answer the question?

Thanks

"An" opportunity means ONE. Stick with one.

I know Stanford is very particular about this. "Tell us a time about..." A time. One time. I'm sure Wharton is the same.

Edit: Now, that is, if you're writing about two opportunities (or the struggle of choosing between the two), then I say that's somewhat not directly answering the question.

I agree on such view for the Stanford essay. Not for the Wharton one, though.

I don't wanna get philosophical about it, but making one choice always involves two opportunities, even if one of them is to stay in the same place.

So if you turned down one opportunity, necessarily you chose between two options, so I think an essay like that would be fine.

I agree with adalfu. In this case, the grammar MATTERS.

I thought Booth's invitation system was nice. But now I think about it, a bulk invitation release of Wharton seems better.

I would agree as long as you write about the opportunity you didn't choose and why and not the one you chose...(i.e. don't say "well i chose plan a instead of plan b because plan a is clearly awesome)

OMG, this feels a bit surreal, but the first invite is tomorrow! Wow, it just hit me (again).

First thing I do tomorrow when I wake up (before brushing, before walking the dog): check my email! I hope they have it out at one set time (like Chicago's), say 7am PST (10 EST).
