Hey guys

I applied last year to wharton, was interviewed, waitlisted and eventually didnt make it. Got an interview again this year and hope to make it in this time. Any body else interviewing on Wed Nov 12 in the afternoon? Happy to link up in advance. Heres the mistake most people make so please dont make the following:

1) Dont be that guy that talks a lot. If you see that one or two people hogging the discussion, they are not getting in
2) Dont be that person either who doesnt contribute. the trick is finding the balance
3) Rather than think about getting admitted as an individual, think of the team. Generally, teams get admitted, so its less of you competing with others in your team and more of your team competing with other teams. The last point is crucial - its very important all of us approach this as a team based discussion

Please PM me if you have questions about the process - from what I understand, it appears the process is same as last time

Thanks for your your tips above :) so it seems Wharton is weeding out the noisy ones and the quiet ones, leaving a kind of middle ground as the students. Interesting.

btw, do you think attendance of the TBD reception is crucial? I probably won't be able to go to it...

I don't think I'm attending the reception. It's the difference between taking 3 days off versus 1 day. However I'm a bit concerned that it may seem like Wharton isn't a top choice for me since I haven't visited campus either.....

It's in SF so likely only people that picked SF got the invite. It was from mbaevents@wharton.upenn.edu
I didn't get an agenda for the day so I'm assuming the Philly interviewees have more events scheduled than just the TBD and 1 on 1? Bc that's all I have scheduled

I'm interviewing on the 13th Philly and I did get some instructions on the events for the day but just the usual. Class visits, lunch with students etc..

Nothing about a reception or anything, but would be nice to have some sort of event after the TBD.

I got an email from admissions inviting me to a reception. Flying out earlier to make it :D I believe it is only for the off-campus interviews??

I just set myself up for the worst schedule for my interview lol...

Have to host a session for work the night before my interview quite far from home (4 hour flight and in the middle of no where). The result is going to be a 2:30/3AM wake-up to catch a flight to Wharton on interview day haha, good times.

There were different prompts last year, one for each application round as far as I remember.

Within a given round I don't think that candidates were assigned different prompts.

So far this year we have only seen one across regions. I hope this helps.
