The official word is that there is no difference between rounds. However, I rather be the first person of my background they look at as opposed to the fifth.

ditto :)

I personally think, there is no difference between rounds, and in theory one stands equal chances of being accepted regardless of the round. The only difference is that the number of applicants in the first round tends to be a bit smaller, but they also tend to be the most organized high profile applicants, so that competitive advantage of the first mover is most probably negligible.

Wow! That's super quick. I remember, it took me close to six months to put my apps together.

Just one tiny observation: from what I have heard from various sources at Wharton, some of the candidates who do interviews are just so boring and uninspiring that this factor alone makes the otherwise outstanding application worth very little. Therefore, it is very important to be sincere, and let your personality shine (if you have one, of course).

I just submitted my application yesterday. Does anybody know when the interview invites will start going out? Looking at last year's thread, it seems to be in the late October-early November time frame.

hey guys,

For those who have filled up/submitted the wharton app, do you see anything in list box with "specializations"? Both the applications I tried creating seem to have no specializations listed in the box. Any insight into this will be helpful.

Thanks.

Do you mean you do not know where to specify your major? I looked through the app I submitted last year, and there was a line "Expected Major" on the first page, right under your phone numbers.

Quick question: I'm looking at the second question that asks about a failure or setback I've experienced. I'm thinking of using that essay to talk about my weak undergrad gpa.

What do you think? Is that going to call too much attention to that aspect of my application? Should I just save that for the optional essay?

thanks!

ac.

I personally think the weak GPA topic is used too often so you'll most probably sound quite out of the mold with the story.
