I personally think the weak GPA topic is used too often so you'll most probably sound quite out of the mold with the story.

from what I gather, each essay is going to be your opportunity to tell them something additional about you...so why waste the second essay on explaining a low GPA, when you already have the optional essay..

use essay2 to show what you have learned since leaving school.. I mean lets compare an example of a failure..I screwed up and badly advised my client causing the client to face $10s of millions in losses..what I learned was blah blah..and so next time I was in similar situation I knew what to look for blah blah and thus now i am an improved blah blah..

compare that to OK..i was in school, i should have paid attention and not goofed off..

Unfortunately I don't have any examples like that! Just minor hiccups...nothing worthy of a whole essay! I'll keep thinking. I still have another day ;)

In the employment section, is it okay to copy and paste resume bullets? I am not sure what difference they are after since the resume lists my job duties as well

I just printed out the pdf of the application, and it cut off my employment Job Duties section, even though it says I still have 161 characters left. Anyone else have this issue?

The R1 deadline is today. We had a meeting with some of the key people in the adcom, and they said the pool is looking quite competitive this year and they are interviewing some very interesting candidates, and quite a few are in the pipeline. Get ready, guys - it is never easy here.

I think the R1 deadline is tomorrow 10/9 at 5 pm EST. At least according to this https://www.wharton.upenn.edu/mba/admissions/process/factsprocess.cfm. (Yes I'm paranoid and double checked the date - I'm still waiting for 1 rec to come in!)

Sorry for the misinformation - the deadline is in 24 hours. When I said they are interviewing, I meant that they already have definite plans on who they are going to interview after the deadline ;)
