Waitlisted again from R2. June 11 is fairly early - do R3 accepted applicants have to pay deposit before then?

Any tips from applicants who successfully converted their wait-list?

One more for being waitlisted. Seems like a really large number of re-waitlistings.

R2 applicant RE-waitlisted...

This seems to be ridiculous. HBS seems to be only keeping 20 more people on the waitlist over the summer. Wharton's waitlist strategy of keeping lots of us hanging doesn't make sense at all.

Well have you considered that all the waitlisters are actively networking, i.e. they are more likelier to be on gmatclub. My guess is the waitlist is less than 50 and about 80% are on gmatclub...

well, difference is that HBS and Stanford compete time and time again with each other for applicants and really only lose out to each other. So, keeping a small waitlist makes sense. Wharton is managing a yield where, legitimately, a portion of their admits might choose HBS, Stanford, or other top 5-10 schools. But I agree, the wait is getting ridiculous. Although June 11 is only less than a month away.

Is this considered the summer waitlist? Seems like post June 11th there is then another waitlist that practically extends to Wharton's start date. With my luck I'm sure I'll have to wait for my ding until then.

Oh trust me, it makes complete sense from their perspective in order to manage yield. I am keeping hopes of getting in off the summer waitlist very, very low (moreover I am an international applicant) -- almost everyone I know from the R2 WL seems to be on R3 WL as well! Like nothing's changed...

Have an offer at Kellogg already (R2), but really wanted to go to Wharton. All comes down to: what's the latest I can sign my lease... this is really annoying...

R1-R2 and now R3 waitlist. I already had to pay a hefty deposit to another school and would love to make travel plans for the summer but it would be nice to know where I'll be living next year...Given how many of us there are I guess I should just assume it won't be Philly

This episode seems quite against JJ Cutler's intention of sending rejected applicants away happy. Truth be told, a good portion of us on the WL will be rejected and he's just adding salt to injury by pushing it further and further.
