The "myWharton MBA" is a new thing, so people that applied last year did not have it. I know this beacause Wharton sent an email a in late October introducing it (I think).
Another crazy theory is that the people with only 3 boxes (especially if the third one is blank) have not yet had their status updated. People with four or five boxes have their status updated;if you have 4= ding 5=admit. The only thing that doesn't seem to really fit the story is that Bateman was admitted at HBS, so it would kinda be expected that he would get into Wharton.
My 2 cents of pointless rumination.

Are people really getting 4 boxes? The transcript receipt item seems to be pointless on its own no? Everyone who had an interview must have had their transcripts received.
every year there is some leak/error school makes, last year Kellogg, this year...maybe Wharton...schools really need to be more careful in handling these things...
