I'm IN!!!! was a 5-boxer and turned into a 4-boxer a day before the deadline.

I'm 22 years old with 680 gmat. Seemed like all odds were against me but it really shows that anything is possible :)
wow congrats! what's your profile like?

I'm in! I was a 4 boxer... for what it's worth (ha!)

Nice job, clean sweep of four top schools. Have you decided which one you're going to yet?

Unless there're valid extenuating circumstances, I would strongly recommend avoiding R3 at most schools, unless they have 4 rounds or something. Most of the spots will have been taken when R3 comes around, so it'll be a lot more competitive.

i would strongly advise against round three applications. if you think you really want to apply to wharton, you should consider removing one of your round two applications for it.

For info purposes...
my interviewer told me yesterday that the interviewer submitted excellent feedback to Wharton...still I didn't get in.
so the dead meat thing Sandy keeps mentioning in bweek thread on Wharton (hbsguru) still holds or at least I'm one example of that.

got waitlisted too.

now, time to get prepared for R2 apps.

anyone has better idea on the waitlist process? % of people on WL, % of admitted from WL, time when they are contacted, if we are going to be compared with R2, then another decision of WL or not for R3 WL, some strategies at this time, ....

good luck to everybody.

the deadmeat phenomenon is very much true. My inteviewer in Stanford liked me so much that he invited me to lunch with his business partner (seriously). Even went on to say that "I have interviewed 25 people so far for Stanford, but u n another chinese american girl are the best!!", but still i got dinged!!
not trying to brag here guys, just trying to prove that some people are doomed from the start!!

interview does not make or break (maybe break if you did really bad) your candidacy I believe, it's just another data-point in your application. The only exception I could think of is if you interview with an adcom and he/she really likes you. There might be a possibility that he/she is involved in the final deliberation process and would vote for your admission. My 2 interview experience (Wharton with alumi and Kellogg with adcom) gave me a sense that adcom is a lot more experienced in interviewing bschool candidates. They tend to probe more and really dig into your profile (and be able to compare you with other candidates). I had both positive interviews but I felt that adcom asked a lot deeper questions and I was able to showcase my profile a lot more in my Kellogg interview. The decision result correlated with my experience in this case (certainly not suggesting that's the cause though). Just my 2 cents.

I was waitlisted R1 last year & remained on there until mid-May when I was finally dinged. As I understand it from last year, when the R2 decisions roll around, all those on the WL are compared to R2 applicants, and then again to R3 should it go that far. Personally, I found the whole experience pretty frustrating. After I was dinged in May, I received an email saying that some people would be selected to receive feedback on their application. I was not one of those chosen, which bummed me out. Would have been nice to get some kind of idea where I fell short.

In terms of % or other statistics, I do not know. Wharton is pretty tight-lipped about it.

Best of luck.
