Does anyone know if the Optional Essay for Chicago has a word limit?

Generally, no, but typically people say 500 words is a good optional essay limit. That said, in my year there was some question about having traveled abroad. It was clearly intended as a short answer type question, but I still submitted something like 700 words anyway.
