Hey so am I understanding this right? (sorry if this sounds dumb!) I can start the application - but not "submit" it and just get the basic demographic type of stuff filled out?

Thanks rhyme for hosting this reception!
I had a suprisingly good time - I expected something like the more boring formal recruiting/networking events I went to during undergrad and instead, got a pretty laid-back affair with good conversation
I got the chance to speak with 4 current GSB students and with rhyme's wife (at least I think she was his wife! )....alas, I didn't get a chance to speak with rhyme himself - he was too popular! 
So all of the GSB-related folks I spoke with were v. nice, welcoming and informative. They had different perspectives on what makes GSB great, the application process, and life in b-school. I got to hear lots of fun stories about trips to the galapagos (as part of random walk), the bidding system for choosing classes, recruiting events, clubs, etc. The biggest application-related take-away for me was that in my essays, I have to demonstrate the value I'll add to the class of 2011. They can very easily fill the class with lots of students with great GPAs and GMATs but they look for diversity in assembling the class. So the question I have to answer is: what value do I add to the class? What experiences/ambitions do I have that make me different from everyone else that's applying? (this may be common knowledge for many of you, but I realized it this weekend)
I think as a result of the event and interacting with the current students, I like the school a WHOLE lot more and am really excited to apply!
Anyone else attend? What did you think?
