Rhyme any rumors on application volume for R2? Up...Down...steady?

If you believe the figures I heard for R1 from the adcom, its way way up.
is chicago ever going to release numbers? i wonder what their strategy behind not releasing numbers is.

With invites flying around, I am losing my focus at work, not good.
And I know this is only going to get worse...
No invite for me (yet?), but still a lot of time to go.

Congrats to those who got the invites!

Interview for me as well :-D
Good job, bherronp! Will it be an off-campus or an on-campus interview for you?

I am not sure yet. I am kind of leaning towards on campus (my wife would like to take a couple days off and just visit Chicago anyway), but I am wary of the potential of a hardcore student interview.

dont worry about not getting an invite early. there really is no correlation between invite time and admittance. i didnt get an invite till the last few days and i was admitted.

Ahh...the wait begins, both at Chicago and Darden. Going by my Ross experience, it's going to be a tough few weeks ahead. :(

GMAT clubbers - lets clean out Chicago .... 7/34 on day 1 to interviews - my god. Although keep in mind the early interviews seem to have a higher chance of getting wait listed ?

Its not supposed to be that way. People are trained not to interview in that manner... I've talked to admissions about the fact that people have had that experience (aviroop's the only one this year though I think) and they've told me that it shouldn't happen. They do check up on these things and do really care about everyone having a positive interview experience. In other words, yes, aviroop's interview may have been tough (though I suspect he thinks it went worse than it probably did), but you shouldn't let that stop you from visiting - nor should it make you worry so! Plus, if you haven't visited, its really quite valuable to come see the school. Similarly, if you get waitlisted, its pretty hard to write a convincing love letter about how badly you want to come to the GSB if you haven't ever even set foot on campus. Also, for super bonus points, I'll let you buy me a coffee. Thats like having a +20 armor cast of intimidating shout joined with a regeneration mana call through a Frank Lloyd Wright Adcom Admit E-potion! Or something.

In other words, get-cho-self out here and come hang out.

I've been to the GSB. I've even met you, Rhyme. Though I haven't bought you coffee, and that sounds like it is an important step!

Sadly, "20 armor cast of intimidating shout joined with a regeneration mana call" mostly made sense to me.

Hey bsd, why do you say that early interview invites have more of a chance of leading to a waitlist? Are there numbers to back this up or is this just from experience? I have a tough time believing adcoms when they say order of interviews don't matter. Intuition would certainly suggest that early interviewers must have stood out to get noticed so early on in the review process. Standing out in this case is obviously a positive sign. Please correct me if I am wrong.

7/34 is amazing on day 1
