The alumnus supposed to interview me called this morning. I have my interview scheduled at his office on Tuesday afternoon... Any advice on "in-office" interviews ?

I researched the guy's profile, and it is quite impressive... I'll let you guys know how it went afterwards.

Be nice to everyone you meet. Don't say a !@(#! thing about anything to anyone in the elevators. You never ever know who is standing next to you.

Congrats nc! Have you been to GSB before? If not, then definitely try to get to campus. Else, either one is fine :) Good luck!!!

Interview.

I'm surprised. If you listen to all the hype, non-quant jocks are not supposed to get into Chicago and Wharton. Not that I have been admitted to either yet, but I did at least get interviews. Humanities majors unite! Go diversity!

KK, dosa, nervous, pandeyrav : Thank you for the wishes.

R1ers : For interview purposes, did you use the extended resume that was sent in with the app or the standard 1-page resume? Thanks!

nc - first of all, my congratulations. I believe they require an abbreviated one page resume similar to the one for London Business School .

Irishfan,
I'm still thinking about it. I'm actually pretty sick so I'm not sure I can deal with the snow and all...

I just reread the Chicago invite and have a question for those of you have been invited to interview (or for anyone else, for that matter) :) . The instructions say "If possible, we highly encourage all applicants to interview on campus. Later it says "All interviews, regardless of the interviewer, are weighted the same."

I know this has been discussed before, but there seems to be some mild contradiction here. Is it really better to interview on campus? If not, then why do they encourage people to interview on campus? I am sure they want people to visit the school (I have heard the recent campus improvements are awesome), but this seems like an awkward place to state that desire.

I would like to go to campus, but I have limited vacation days left. I used one of my two weeks to write my apps and I am going to use the second week to take my girl friend on a trip to China to thank her for putting up with me during this process. :o So if I can avoid going to campus without having it affect my app decision, so much the better. Otherwise I may have to call in sick (oops...) or do a weekend interview.

Congrats everyone on their invites. For the rest of you, hang in there -- this whole thing is pretty random. A lot people on here have great profiles, so I have no doubt that many of you will get invites.
