Had my interview this afternoon. It seemed pretty in line with the experiences that everyone else had shared. Very very very very -did I say VERY informal and conversational. My alum could not have been more laid back. We chatted for about an hour and then he said, oh geez, we better get through these questions that they are making me ask! He was very interested in my professional experience, in particular my current employer. I wasn't too surprised because of the many headlines my company has been in in the last six months. We also talked about the NCAA tournament, and the current status of the financial markets. He also did a bit of selling on Columbia. The alum gave me some recommendations on how to get the most out of Columbia and even a class or two that are "can't miss."
Definte questions:
Why MBA
Why Columbia
Why career X after MBA?
Ethical Dilemma
International Experience
Extracurriculars
An experience that you have experiences that others would be surprised to know about you
Overall, it went about as good as I could have expected. In total, the conversation lasted about 90 minutes. He said that I should let him know when the decision is made. I'm hoping that's a positive indicator.
Many thanks for those who assisted me. You know who you are
