Got an interview invite! :) Is this interview blind if done on-campus? (do they have access to your application/essays or just your resume?)

Btw, I'd be willing to practice interviews via Skype/telephone for those in USA from 2/8 onwards (I'm out of town for work). PM if you're interested.

blind, just resume

Just got an invite for interview. App went complete on the 22nd

Congrats!

I'm still sitting with an inbox full of broken dreams. Le sigh. :)

Pudge: when did your app go complete. there is still a week and a half left, so dont lose hope. One thing though: I think they release invites at 9 am every morning..so I would suggest not to freak yourself out by staring at the inbox

Don't worry, I only freak out at 3pm (I'm in London) every day. :) This pretty much sums up my day:

1:00pm - productivity goes down the drain as I imagine receiving an invite in my email
2:00pm - start the countdown to 3pm as my hope increases
2:55pm - resist the urge to refresh my email
3:00pm - refresh my email
3:00-3:30pm - keep refreshing just in case my mail server is slow
3:30pm - go on gmatclub, vent my frustration, and see if anyone else got an invite, secretly hoping that whoever got an interview invite today went complete with their application before I did (1/21), even though I don't necessarily think there's a correlation
4:00pm - sit dejected, thinking I'll never get an invite from Chicago, which in turn means I'll never get an invite from Harvard, which means I'm an epic failure at life
11:00pm - go to bed, crushed
6:00am the next day - wake up with a renewed sense of hope that I'll get an interview invite today

IT'S LIKE THE MOVIE GROUNDHOG DAY! Only much, much worse.

If this helps you... I am in Western Europe too and my app went complete on the same day (1/21) - still no invite. Not that this means anything ...

At this point, I am setting my mind on Plan B. Getting an invite from Booth between now and the 17th would only be a nice surprise.

Haha, this is SO accurate, except since I'm in New York, I go through this exact process between 8am and 10am, a time at which, no matter my caffeine intake, I am still a loathsome misanthropic knot of seething resentment about morningtime in particular and the whole world in general. So if you replace words like "resist the urge" with "struggle with demonic compulsions" and "refresh" with "stab the F8 key with unnecessary violence" you have my mornings perfectly pegged.

By calling the admissions office and asking for Rose Martinelli. Kidding!

You should have received an email notification of the status change.

I am generally a logical person but this application process has made me superstitious. I have a strong feeling that my mailbox is cursed. The curse must be something like "This mailbox will not receive any mails except e-newsletters and dings." I think time for me to start studying Astrology.... :(

here in the west coast my ritual starts when i wake up... like this other day i woke up, checked my email on the phone and bam there is a mail from chicago booth and the preview you see in the iphone mail client has the word "interview"... my heart rate sky rocketed but came down as fast when i saw that this was one of their newletters which happened to have "tips on interviewing"... what a tease, eh?

i've started conditioning myself for the highly probable ding. i like my plan B (buy a porsche with the money i'll spend getting an MBA and keep my job!!)....

:-D I thought I was the only one. I am in India and I wake up way too early nowadays and check my phone for any emails on my apps.

Nothing again today! Time to retire for the weekend and start the whole freaking out process again on Monday. UGH. There's still 7 business days, so other people out there, don't give up yet!

pudget i feel your pain...

I applied ED to Columbia and had to go through this mental agony for 2 months..
Every day i would check my inbox and my heart rate would spike to 180 if there was any new mail...Only to discover that it was spam advertising cheap holidays in Thailand or discount viagra..

By the time the ding mail came i was too disgusted to even care. But i wish you all the best and hope you get that Invite..

Hang in there...Be a shark, not a guppy 8-)

Eerily quiet today, eh?

Maybe adcom saw the anxiety schedules we've all admitted to -- "9am: check my e-mail; 9:01am: check my e-mail; 9:02am: check my e-mail; 9:03am: check to make sure my internet is still actually connected; 9:03am: vow to go fifteen minutes without checking e-mail; 9:05am: check my e-mail" -- and are trying to mix it up a little, give us a break? After all, they couldn't possibly have better things to do than peruse these forums (fora). Heaven knows: I certainly don't seem to.
