Oh, you are supposed to send a note to Rose everyday re-affirming your undying love and commitment to Chicago. :)
Seriously, there is so much emptiness in my life after GMAT/essays/interviews, I feel if I am not working on something related to MBA everyday, I must be forgetting something. I am told Chicago releases all decisions within a space of day or two at the notification date.

BIG VOID for sure. Essays / interview prep have been my life for the past 6 months. Now, I'm working hard on getting my alcohol tolerance level back up to what is was before.

hey guys, just wanted to double check that there was nothing more to be done after the interview? is it literally now we just sit back and wait for the decision?

i know decisions are out end of march... anyone heard if they release decisions beforehand like other schools?

You could give a debrief of your interview :)

Interview report

I met an alum at his office in the evening.

Here is the list of questions I was asked

1)Walk me through your resume
2)ST/LT goals
3)Why MBA
4)Why Booth
5)Outside of work you enjoy
6)If money was not a constraint what would be your ideal job?
7)What efforts did you make in the undergrad to get yourself a job
8)Challenging situation
9)Any challenges you can think of when you land in Chicago
10)Questions for me

Some more questions were asked but these are the ones I remember( I'll update incase I remember anything more)

Though the number of questions seem many, we managed to complete the interview in about 35 to 40mins. I think I was far too concise in my responses.

One suggestion:- Know 5 to 6 stories cold. Twist and turn them to answer a question. For ex:- you have to get to a point where you should be able to twist your leadership story and talk about it as a teamwork story

Sure thing. Had an interview with an alum - crisp 30 minutes at a coffee shop. Asked the usual tell me about yourself, your job, what you want to do, why this industry etc. The one thing that stood out for me was he kept drilling me on why Booth - he really wanted to know why I wanted to come to the school and was trying to figure out whether I was a good fit or not - talked about it for about 10 minutes, he seemed less interested to dig deeper into my experiences / achievements / credentials. No idea whether this was a good thing or a bad thing!

Hope this helps.

Sure does. Thank you and ATB for your result.

I have mine the day after tomorrow.

Had my off-campus interview with an alumnus last week. It lasted for just over an hour (not sure if this is good or bad). Pretty conversational interview with basic resume/career goal questions. Toughest question was given my age, what makes me more qualified than other applicants with similar scores but more work experience... I was also thankful that he didn't ask for my GMAT/GPA.

For role call purposes, I received an invite on 2/12 (not 1/12).

just read this off a clear admit blast....

While some schools rely on consensus when making the final decision, other schools employ different strategies. Rose Martinelli, Admissions Director at Chicago Booth, explained in her Q&A that, at Chicago, "once the interview is complete and the interview feedback is submitted, the complete file is given to an admissions director who has not previously reviewed the application. She or he makes a decision to admit or deny the candidate."

...not sure i like the sound of that AT ALL.

Haha, very true niraja! :)

my first response at the both of you was a laugh. my answer: none. though booth and lbs seem to be the more transparent schools. i do appreciate that.

my second response (unless i misread): i dont like the attitude youre directing towards me, niraja. keep your thinly veiled insults to yourself. k? next time i wont be so nice. carry on.

yeah, you definitely did misread. i had no hurtful incentives since i don't even know you. maybe i should have re-worded it in this manner "what part of this game is enjoyable?"

i understand that you are on pins and needles. i am too. not for booth though.

Your post scared me a bit. So I did a little search. You seem to have missed the last sentence

In short, the process, as mentioned in the Q & A, is

First step - the file is read by a 2nd year student who votes interview or deny
Second step - it is read by an adcom director who again votes interview or deny

If both decisions match then candidate is invited to interview. if not a third person breaks the tie

Third step - After the interview, a completely new adcom director again votes admit or deny

If the outcomes of all the three steps match, the candidate is admitted or the file is debated in the committe and a final recommendation is made

I don't really get it. What's there to agree on? The first two decisions were to "interview" or "deny". Does a vote of "admit" match with a vote of "interview"?

Probably yes.

I'm thinking even the interviewer votes an admit or a deny

So, the applicants who have a 'yes' in all steps, including the first step , are admitted. But for all the others the file is debated by the committe
