I am an R2 candidate. I interviewed on April 2 on campus. At my interview, I was told that they will be making decisions very soon and I should find out "in a few days." Therefore, it seems to me that a decision will come down any day this week. Getting into Georgetown is really important to me. I hope it works out for everyone as well!! Good luck all...

That was fast Octane! Congratulations.

I'm 75% sure I'll be matriculating. Still haven't seriously discussed this matter with the SO and folks. Are you attending the Welcome Weekend?

Just curious: has anyone gotten an interview and then dinged?

I would imagine getting an interview invite should be a very positive sign.

I had my interview on April 7. Been reading the forums here and on BW. Seems like there are several ppl who got dinged after interviewed. This is getting me worried.

According to last year's statistics:

1628 ppl applied
48% or 781 got interviewed

35% or 569 got accepted

So 569/781 = 73% of ppl interviewed got accepted. However, this is last year's statistics. Understanding that this year, the number of applications increased significantly and the # of spots at GT remains the same.

I appreciate anyone else giving their thoughts....

Wow, those are promising stats.

I'm not sure if GTown has experienced the same increase in apps as other top schools. I'm sure it has seen an increase, but I doubt at the level of the top 10ish schools.

I read on one of these forums that this year, GT is expecting over 2,000 applications, which is a significant increase from 1,628 last year. In addition, the alumnus I interviewed said GT is trying to size down its class size to around 250 - 275.

My guess would be that last year's 73% (% admitted who were interviewed) would most likely be south of 60%. Just my 2 cents. Any other thoughts?

Last year's entering class was 264, so the range the alumnus gave you doesn't seem like they're sizing down much.

Of the 569 who got accepted last year, 264, or 46%, enrolled.

If we use the same statistics as last year and assume that application are up to 2,000, then Gtown will interview about 959 applications. If we assume the matriculation rate (46%) will be the same, to get a class of 275, they'd need to accept 597 applications or 62%. To get a class of 250, they'd need to accept 547 applications, or 57%.

A 23% increase in apps is not out of the question, but expectations and reality are different beasts. Admission rate will definitely be lower, who knows by how much.

Your wondering should be over in the next few days, GOOD LUCK!

Your assumptions/analysis is very interesting... So we should anticipate 57% to 62%.

However, what is worrying me is that when you look at BW forum, there are more people who got dinged than accepted for those who interviewed. (https://forums.businessweek.com/n/pfx/fo ... &tid=74481)

This is working in contrary to our estimate. However, it may be because the ones who got accepted just didn't post. You're right. We are all guessing and until the truth comes out, we don't know...

Good luck to you too!!
