Hello,
I've a very specific question. I've passed CFA Level 2 and I'm currently working as an equity research analyst but looking to switch to Consulting post-MBA. Do you think mentioning CFA Level 2 on my application can have negative implications? Do you think it would make more sense to the admission committee if I stick to finance career post-MBA since I have done CFA Level 2?

I doubt it would hurt your chances in any way, the CFA designation is quite common in equity research. One of the main reasons people pursue an MBA is to switch careers (often from finance to consulting). Career switching is common enough that it's pretty safe to say adcoms are comfortable with folks in finance wanting to get out of finance

You can surely mention that you are CFA level 2 certified. It will not give any negative impact. MBA in Finance will give overview of both Management and Finance whereas CFA will help you acquire hard core finance concept so I guess it will be a good combination.
