Definitely consider purchasing fresh Official Mocks. Noted you got V41-42 on the exam a year ago and on the recent Official Mock. If you feel your fundamentals are solid, consider working on your solving approach. May boost your score a bit. Had a 6-hour student for example who went from a V41 to a V45 (retake) in about 10 days. Perhaps work with a study buddy who has really strong Verbal skills.

All the best on your exam. Some quick tips on the gmatknight website.

Well, have you booked the appointment and the exam? If you already have paid for it, you’re not going to get a refund or much of a credit so you may as well take the test. That’s a little bit of a dog eat dog world perspective… or do you have options?

On the other hand, if you haven’t yet booked your test and you’re looking to make a decision, I would definitely consider purchasing tests three and four. Otherwise, it’s hard to tell how accurate your score is… I think that’s what everyone else kind of told you.

PS. If you have paid for the test and you’re taking it for sure, ignorance may be bliss 😂

Hi,
My 2nd GMAT attempt is 11 days away. I took the GMAT Official Free practice test 1 and scored 710 by resetting it from a year ago, had taken the mock for the first time a week before that. Should I but the Practice test 3&4 to fairly assess my abilities or can I take the other Free Practice mock by resetting it and trust the results?

GMAT Official Practice mock - 560 (Q39, V27) - Feb 21,2022
GMAT 1 - 600 (Q39, V40) - Feb 27,2022
GMAT 2 Practice test mock 1 after reset 710 (Q47, V41) - Jan 12,2023

I remember seeing 1/2 familiar questions but I did not remember the correct answers at all in Quant. I trust the Verbal score as I saw no common questions and it is generally my stronger suit.

Please help as I don't want to try any free course prep mocks as they are unnecessarily difficult and I need a confidence boost or at least a genuine reality check before the actual test. It's taken me a lot to attempt this a second time.

HI brinda0318,

I agree that you should purchase tests 3 and 4. Once you do and take a fresh practice exam, let us know how it goes.

Hi everyone,

I did take purchase the Official practice 3 & 4 after most of you suggested that would be a better way to judge my abilities. I also took the GMAT exam so adding those scores here as well.

Official mock 3: 570 (Q44V25) {Was not able to concentrate during the test because I was too stressed, messed up timing and other silly mistakes}
Official mock 4: 650 (Q49V30) {At this point, confident about Quant, but had not studied Verbal at all, so decided to study only Verbal from D-4 to D day}

Actual GMAT: 690 (Q47V38) {Not sure if things just got lucky or the solving OG Verbal actually helped that much!}

I'm planning to retake soon to try to cross the 700 mark, will concentrate on Verbal and continue practicing Quant.

All the best getting 700+. You are only 10 points away. Consider getting the ESR to see where you may want to focus your prep.

Starting with a 560 and moving up all the way to 690 is just phenomenal Brinda!

Very few students are able to achieve that kind of an improvement :thumbsup:.

Heaty congratulations.
