Look at syllogism from veritas prep
All widgets are steel.
Some widgets are red.
Therefore, some steel widgets are not red.
it is mentioned that the conclusion is not "must be true".
can someone explain the reason of why the conclusion cannot be inferred from the above premises?

All widets are steel => all widgets in the discussion are steel widgets.
Some widgets are red => some steel widgets are red.
Some covers the range (from atleast one to all). So at one extreme, there's atleast one steel widget that is red , and on the other extreme possibility covered by some , all steel widgets are red.
"Some steel widgets are not red " meets the criteria of all conditions excepting the possibilty that all steel widgets could be red. (the second extreme)
(if all widgets are red, none of the steel widgets will be not red)
