I'm currently in the process of deciding between a couple schools. I've been admitted into Cornell (Johnson), Katz (University of Pittsburgh), a joke MBA school, and have been offered an interview at Babson (UW) that I'll likely not do. My situation is very very strange.
Basically, I'm a future medical student who has a set for 2015 only. I am graduating at the end of this year, and have a year in between where I am contractually required to continue schooling (which is why I could only apply to 1 year programs).
I am in love with Cornell and its program. The professors seem amazing, and the healthcare focus seems like it would be very beneficial. There are a couple complications, however, including cost and other things, that have led me to the conclusion that right now, a Cornell MBA is probably not the best option for me.
Here is my question. If I decide to go to the joke MBA school, where I'd be working full time on my startup and basically only getting the MBA to fulfill my contract, could I go back to Cornell eventually and reapply? Would I be a competitive applicant (assuming GMAT score of 700+ (might retake for a 750+ probably), an MD, and either a successful or failed startup under my belt) ? How do most top 10 schools feel about this? Would it differ if I didn't finish my MBA at the joke MBA school? I ultimately do want to go to a top 10 MBA school, but I think it might be best if this is done later. If I can't do this, I figure I might as well go to Upitt or babson.
