If you are looking at India as an option IIM (A , B , C ) Executive MBA or an MBA from ISB could be on your list.

CrackVerbalShree ma'am, a quick question- Does ISB encourage candidates with 8-9 years of work experience to join their one year residential flagship program- PGP?

I am working in the Govt sector for 7 years as a Tax Officer. I am 33+ in age. I am planning to take GMAT. I am asking you guys, is it wise decision to do the MBA at this age as when I enter the B- School i am 34+. Please give genuine advice.

Hey sundeepsingh, depends on your post MBA goals. You can easily make into good Indian and Europe business schools that admits candidates with higher work experiences.

So, step 1: please have clarity on your post-MBA role and see if you can convince yourself on Why MBA!
Step 2: Identify your constants, for example- post MBA you want to work in India. Let's consider this as a constant. So automatically, European schools are now out of the picture (Not that you can't do but it's advisable to complete your MBA from the country you want to work in, however people do go abroad and come back to India)
Step 3: If you look at Indian B Schools, your profile resonates with the batch profile for one year residential programs at IIMs. How do I know it? I've done the research- requesting you to go to their website and browse associated GMATclub.com forums. Expert consultants (such as people at Crack Verbal) know this like the back of their hand.
Step 4: For schools like ISB- given the PGP batch profile, it'll be tough for you however they have executive programs targeting people with 12+ years of work experience-please check them out.
Step 5: Write to admission team of your shortlisted B-school and they'll be more than happy to help you. You might also reach out to expert consultants and book a profile evaluation call to discuss this. Please do your research before scheduling such calls.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks LeoN88 . I wanted to do an MBA from Canadian college like Ivey Smith or Rotman. And my aim is to do regular MBA. So as I complete my MBA in the age of 35, what are the job prospects there?

Hello sundeepsingh,

For schools such as Ivey - the average experience is on the higher side. This year we have worked with someone with more than 8 years of experience and 30+ in age and an admit to Ivey and Rotman. So as long as you can highlight the strength of your profile and need to do an MBA.

LeoN88 at ISB - if you have to draw a graph considering the experience of the class every year, the bell curve will be from 3-6 years of experience. However, there is about 20% of the class which is more than 6 yrs of experience. The class at IIM EPGP have students with more experience.

Definitely yes...!!
But its your decision to take a final call. There are people,33+, who have posted GMAT debriefs and MBA journey on this forum.
With your age only concern i see is if you are looking to change industries as Ivey and Rotman or any B School would help you grow in your present industry easily. Rest of the factors - family, health etc. - is up to you.

Hello Everyone

I am 31 years old, a Mechanical Engineer, working with Steel Authority of India Limited, since March 2013.
I am planning to go for an MBA and change my line of work.

I need opinion on which MBA specialisation is better as per my experience. I will be giving GMAT in November 2020.

I plan on moving to Canada eventually but nothing is final yet. I am open to all available options.

Requesting the experts to guide me.
Thank you.

Hi,

I have 5.5 years of experience in sales and marketing in a leading MNC and I was working as an entrepreneur from last two years. I windup my work after March as I was expecting a good score in GMAT ,then a good college. But it didn't happen.I scored 590. Now in the dilemma whether to join a job first to continuing my work experience, then start preparation for GMAT or just going on with the preparation. But it generates gap in my resume which is already 4months till now. Kindly guide me to what side I should take next step.

I recommend taking a data science course after completing your MBA.
Data science is a fantastic professional path with a lot of room for progress in the future. Demand is already high, earnings are competitive, and benefits are plentiful. A data scientist's average annual pay is Rs. 698,412. An entry-level data scientist can earn around 500,000 per year with less than a year of experience.
Learnbay is the top online institute for data science and advanced AI programs in Delhi. They offer 6 to 8 certificates as well as 14 actual projects. They have well-trained instructors who will assist them in building their technical skills and expanding their job options. For more information Visit Learnbay.co

As many have said here, there's no hard stop as to when you can/should apply for an MBA. If your career goals are solid, then I would highly encourage you to study for the GMAT and apply!

Just a quick comment and advice from me. I'm 34 and have no problem learning anything, I'm pretty sure you don't either. So go ahead and start learning. Also, one note, with just one desire you won’t go far, so think carefully before you start something.
